Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

A good friend of my sister, HL, ordered this cake and cupcakes for her niece's second birthday. The little girl likes Barney a lot. I told HL that I will do a garden theme for her niece. Presenting...Barney and Friends...

Happy Birthday June!!!

A few of my girlfriends and I celebrated two of our wonderful friends' birthday recently. My good friend EP made some yummy peanut butter cupcakes for them. She made the topper for BB which is a baking theme (very nice!! Sorry no pics here) and I made the topper for June which is a bear theme. Here are the pics of the toppers...

We all had a great nite out...eating and catching up. :)

Power Puff

This is a cake I made for a little girl who likes Power Puff - Blossom and flowers. The design of the cake was inspired by Lindy Smith. I learnt a lot of lessons through this cake. Firstly, always place the topper of the cake (the Power Puff figurine) on a base. Secondly, no matter how small the top tier of the cake is, I must put support underneath it. Lastly, never underestimate the complexity of covering a small cake. Enough of lessons learnt. Here is the final product...

Ironman

I made this cake for a cell member's son who turned 5. At first she asked me to just do an Ironman topper for her because her little boy likes Ironman. When looked at the toy, I told her I won't be able to do that topper for her. I asked her to instead loan me one of her son's Ironman and I will do the rest for her. Here is the result...

Shawn loved the cake. :)
Note: There are some children cartoon characters that I won't try doing...it's because they are too complicated and will not look the same or close to the original...one of them is Transformers. My son has been asking me for a Transformer cake. Think next year I will do one for him using his toys as toppers. :)

Elmo, Cookie Monster and Transformers.

I made these cupcakes for my son's school concert. He requested for transformers as usual (his favourite now) but I decided to do Elmo and Cookie Monsters as well. The cupcakes were a hit with the children as well as the parents. Here are some pics of them...

Another Fullmoon Order - It's A Girl!!

This post together with a few others are long overdue...I will try to update my blog more often with my latest orders in future. :)

This is my second fullmoon order. This is however for a baby girl. I really had fun doing this order. The happy mummy wanted one set of mini ones for her colleagues and one set of the standard ones for Baby's fullmoon party. I actually don't do mini cuppies anymore but since KN had ordered from me before, I did it for her. She has been very supportive of me since I started baking from home. :) Here are the pics for the cupcakes...

Sebastian is 2!!

My sister's friend ordered this cake from me for her 2 year old son's birthday. He likes bears...so I decided to make a cake with him and a bear. I covered the cake with fondant this time to give it a neat finish.

Cake Topper

I made this cake topper for a good friend's little boy's 2nd birthday. He loves motorbikes so here is the topper with him next to a motorbike...

Some of you might wonder why make a topper without a cake? Well, my friend bakes very, very well...that's why. She can also decorate cakes very well...but she gave me the challenge and privilege to do this. :) Thanks EP!!!

Lesson with a PRO

Have not been updating my blog for awhile. Since my last blog till now, I went for another class at Cake Connection. I have been wanting to attend this class by Mama Min and so when my dear friend M told me that she has signed up for it and it would be fun to attend together, I did. After 6 hours, here is my wedding couple...

It was really a good class to attend. I learnt so much in that class and Mama Min is really a good teacher. :)

Football!

I made these cupcakes for one of my cell group member's son's birthday as a gift. The first time I saw this boy, he was only 3 years old. These cupcakes are for his 11th birthday. How time flies! He had a football party hence the request for a football themed cupcakes.

Feedback, his friends and him enjoyed the cupcakes. Happy Birthday J!

My First Fullmoon Order

A friend of mine ordered cupcakes from me to be given away for her son's fullmoon. This is by far my biggest order - more than 300 cupcakes to be packed in different packages. The good thing about this order is that it is done in stages. Besides, my dear friend M helped me out with the order. For those who are not familiar with the chinese culture, fullmoon is the celebration of the first month of newborn babies. :) Here are pictures of the baby theme cupcakes.

A box of 25 cupcakes.
All ready to be picked up.

A pack of 6.
My friend was pleased with the results and said that most of her friends said that the cupcakes are very cute. My favourite of the lot is the booties. Thanks B for this order. Also thanks M for helping me. :)

A Fun Lesson at Cake Connection

I have been really busy for the past few weeks and hence no time to post. Anyway, I went for a class at Cake Connection, PJ, few weeks back to learn how to cover a cake with fondant. So far I have been reading and surfing the net to learn how to decorate cakes and cupcakes. I would say that the class was fun and I did learn quite a bit on how to cover a whole cake with fondant. The tips given by the instructor were also quite useful. Most important of all was that I went to this class with my good friends, EP & E. :) Here are some pictures of the finished product.

The Little Mermaid Ariel

A friend of my sister ordered this cake for her little girl's 6th birthday. She looked up some pictures of Ariel cakes on the internet and said that her little girl likes this the best. She sent me the link to the cake and when I saw it I was a little worried. I told her that I may need to source for the cake topper and if I can't, I will mould the Ariel for her. She was also a little worried as she said some of the moulded Ariel she saw on the internet didn't resemble Ariel that much. So the hunt began...and finally one of my dear friend, EP, told me that I can order the topper online. Yay! I checked out the site she gave me and ordered the topper immediately. After about 5 working days, the topper arrived. Next came the challenge of making and icing the one and a half cake. Well, I am glad that I got this order. It's challenging yet interesting to do. Check out the original cake at:

Below is the version of my cake. I added Flounder. :)

IPhone, Wii, PSP, Cars and Football.

This order was delivered today. It's a birthday order with R's favourite things. According to the client who orderd this from me, he was impressed with the cupcakes. I especially enjoyed doing the ones with the Iphone apps. Here are some pictures of them.

My First Wedding Order

I got a call sometime back to do cupcakes for a wedding as gift to be taken back by the guests after the dinner. As we spoke, the order grew from just cupcakes to a cake and also jars of biscuits for the western dinner. Yes, this couple had two dinners. One western style and the other chinese style. As the order was big in MY scale, I had to ask a good friend M to help me. We had to divide the tasks and here are the pictures of our hardwork. :) Thanks M for your great contribution.

Though we were really tired after the delivery, both M and I were really happy that we did this order. Thanks J & II for the opportunity. Am really glad that you both loved everything we did. :) It was great doing this order for both of you.
